The Valley Hunters Rugby Union Club (VHRUC) signed a significant partnership agreement with the Hilton Hotel today (Friday, January 31st, 2025) at the Hilton Hotel in Port Moresby.

This partnership agreement entails the Hilton Hotel becoming the official venue partner of the Valley Hunters, in terms of accommodation and community initiatives associated with the SWG Enterprise-sponsored club.

It’s an important step forward for the Valley Hunters, providing a unique opportunity to further strengthen their commitment to community engagement and supporting the growth of rugby union, as well as reinforcing the values of the club.

Through this partnership, the club aims to expand the impact of rugby beyond the field, encouraging the members to not only excel as athletes but also as responsible citizens committed to making a positive difference in the community.

The General Manager of Hilton Hotel & Residences, Ryan Mikkelson said they were delighted to partner and collaborate with the Valley Hunters, intending to foster and deliver the community outreach programs.

“It’s a pleasure today to have the signing of our partnership proposal for 2025. This is great for the hotel and that really aligns with our travel purpose program, which is supporting youth and our local community activities. We are looking forward to our partnership together,” Mikkelson shared.

The President of Valley Hunters, Henry Elias expressed the club’s gratitude and appreciation to the Hilton Hotel & Residences for the partnership and looks forward to working together with the hotel this year.

“We are very honored and excited about this new partnership, especially with Hilton Hotel being our destination partner for accommodation and hospitality. We are very passionate about community work, so we thank the management of Hilton for the sponsorship,” Elias stated.

One of the stalwarts of Valley Hunters and coaching staff, Max Katal echoed the similar sentiments shared by President Elias and looks forward to collaborating with the Hilton Hotel this year and going into the future.

This timely partnership with the Hilton Hotel has boosted the spirits of the reigning premiers (Valley Hunters) as they set their sights on defending their title and opening the 2025 Capital Rugby Union (CRU) season in April.
