PSL go for one week break

After the conclusion of round one on Sunday, August 18th, the Premier Soccer League (PSL) will have a one week recess to facilitate the transfer of players and finalize the master team lists before round two kicks off on Sunday, August 31st, 2024.

Following seven weeks of fierce rivalry between the eight participating clubs, the undefeated Hekari United FC maintain the top spot, followed by Gulf Komara FC, United Highlands FC, Lae City FC, Port Moresby Strikers FC, Admiralty Islands FC, Lae City Dwellers FC, and Morobe Wawens FC.

In a press release, the PNG Football Association (PNGFA) praised the clubs for competing strongly against each other and raising the standard of football in the first half of the PSL season.

“The performances by all teams have no doubt set the standard, and fans should expect competitive and entertaining matches when the second round of the competition resumes on August 31st,” the statement reads.

With seven more rounds to go before the finals, the stakes will be higher, especially for the teams who are sitting outside of the top 4, trying to secure a spot in the playoffs.
