PMSA concludes 13th weekend of round 2 games

The Port Moresby Soccer Association (PMSA) competition successfully concluded its 13th weekend of games on July 3rd-4th, 2024, at Bisini Football Fields in Port Moresby.

According to the competition manager, Joseph Ame, the games were played peacefully with no issues, and all weekend games were completed successfully.

"We are currently in round 2, on our 13th week of games, which we successfully concluded weeks 11 and 12 two weekends ago," he emphasised.

"We have 5 more weekends of games remaining before we finish all round games and move on to the season finals."

Mr. Ame noted that the games were competitive over the weekend, with teams closely positioned in the standings, making it difficult to predict which team would take the top spot.

After week 13, the top 4 spots saw PS Rutz lead with 27 points, followed by City Strikers and Mungkas with 26, and Solomon United on 23 points.

"It's a close point difference, meaning any team could secure first or second place," Ame explained.

The progressing points ladder for other divisions in the competition are as follows:

Men’s Division 1: Cloudy Bay FC (26), Murat NCD FC (23), Keleiruna FC (22), and Vesubeai Aupa FC (20).

Men’s Division 2: FC Kula (29), Borders FC (28), Finance FC (27), and Ormand FC (24).
