The competition leaders of division 5 in the Public Servants Netball Association (PSNA), the National Museum & Art Gallery (NMAG), edged the National Procurement Commission (NPC) with a 14-12 win to maintain their perfect record on Saturday, February 1st, 2025, at the Rita Flynn courts in Port Moresby.
Since the resumption of the PSNA competition in January, the NMAG side haven’t lost a single game and look forward to facing the Censorship team this weekend in the final game of the regular season before the competition heads to the playoffs next weekend (February 15).
A very competitive match from the opening quarter to the final quarter saw the red-hot NMAG team manage to pull off a 2-point win (14-12) over NPC to keep their winning streak intact, as they anticipate concluding the normal round this weekend.
Captain Karo Arava said it was a very competitive game, but she was pleased that they won the match, shifting their focus to the last game against the Censorship side this weekend (February 8th).
“It was a very tough game, but we managed to pull through. We haven’t lost any game in our division, so we are very happy. We are confident to beat Censorship this weekend and look forward to the playoffs,” Arava said.
After participating in the PSNA competition three years ago (2022), the NMAG girls made it to the grand final that year but lost to PNC and redeemed themselves in 2023 following their victory over CPTA.
In three years, the NMAG team made great progress by being promoted from division 7 to division 5 and putting other teams on notice.
The NMAG’s mission in the 2025 season is to maintain their perfect winning record and reach the grand final to claim division 5 of the PSNA competition and secure a promotion to division 4 next season.
