Juggernauts thump Wanderers

The Chemcare Juggernauts showcased an outstanding performance and defeated the JRA Wanderers with a 47-12 win in the Premier Men’s clash on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Bava Park 1 in Port Moresby.

This round 9 match of the Pepsi Moni Plus Capital Rugby Union (CRU) competition saw the Juggernauts rise to the occasion and deliver their best performance compared to their previous encounters.

Juggernauts captain, Justin Kepas, has outlined that the team played according to their usual plans that they had utilised throughout the previous games, and the match was much better than the previous ones.

“In the previous games, we did not complete our sets and what we planned to do. We did not deliver,” said Kepas.

“Some mistakes such as dropped balls and high tackles affected our games. This game, we disciplined ourselves in those areas and focused on our game, no matter which teams we played against.

“All in all, we stuck to our game structure and executed our game plans well to reap the result.”

He expressed excitement in this success, mentioning that it was not the end and the team would keep on fighting.

“We have to maintain the game momentum till the end and cut down our errors,” captain Kepas said.

The captain credited the Wanderers, stating that they were a strong team but needed to improve in some areas.

“They are a very tough team, but I think their fitness let them down. In the areas such as scrum, lineout, they matched us,” said Kepas.

The win over Wanderers brought a significant boost and energy to the team, as they continue to make progress.

“We look forward to the upcoming rounds, and it's not a new thing. We will stick to our game plan,” Kepas stated.

Meanwhile, the Kramer Ausenco Brothers beat the Fincorp University Piggies with a 35-20 victory in the second match of the Premier Men's division.
