The Finance Corporation Limited (FinCorp) has come on board once again to continue its sponsorship package of K30,000 to the University Piggies for their 2025 Capital Rugby Union (CRU) season.
University Piggies - also known as ‘Uni Piggies’ is the oldest rugby union club in the country that is taking part in the Capital Rugby Union competition in Port Moresby.
The Uni Piggies and FinCorp started their partnership in 2022, where FinCorp has the naming rights to the team.
The FinCorp-sponsored Piggies had a phenomenal season in the 2024 CRU campaign and shocked the semi-professional competition, but unfortunately missed the playoffs, finishing 5th on the ladder.
Seeing the strong season the men-in-blue displayed last year and the good community programs the club is doing, FinCorp is pleased to continue its support, boosting the spirit of the Piggies in their 2025 CRU campaign.
FinCorp Chief Executive Officer, Andre Bester stressed that the company was happy to back the Piggies, which is part of its social or corporate responsibility towards sports, communities, etc.
“We are thrilled to reaffirm our sponsorship of the club (Uni Piggies) in 2025,” CEO Bester stated.
“Their commitment to their youth, teamwork, and community aligns perfectly with FinCorp’s values. We are proud to support their journey and look forward to celebrating their achievements in the upcoming season.”
Uni Piggies Club President, Pochon Lili expressed the club’s gratitude to FinCorp for its steadfast support and continued sponsorship.
“FinCorp’s continued sponsorship is invaluable to our club,” President Lili said.
“This support will allow us to invest in advanced training resources and expand our community outreach programs this year. We deeply appreciate FinCorp’s belief in our mission and unwavering support.”
