The 2024 Corporate Touch Port Moresby (CTPM) competition is making good progress, according to President, Elsie Girisa.

Girisa made the remarks after the game 1 fixtures of round 3, which took place at the Murray Barracks Oval in Port Moresby on Sunday, June 30, 2024.

President Girisa was excited and stated that they were in the last round on Sunday.

She noted that they had about five more weeks for the games before heading into the finals of the competition, with the grand final scheduled for September or October.

Girisa mentioned that CTPM had different divisions, including the Under-16 Juniors, Open Men, Open Women, Open Mix, Senior Mix, and the Masters.

She emphasised their focus on junior development and said they planned to open up the Masters Division next year, which is specifically for senior men and women aged 35 and above.

She said there were some new teams joining this season and they are expecting a bigger competition in 2025.

“We have six new clubs that have joined and the number of teams, especially across different divisions, has increased to about 36 teams compared to 20 last year,” said Girisa.

“We are aiming for increased women’s participation in the next season.”
