Bismarck FC Record First Win of PMSA Preseason

The Bismarck FC triumphed over the Raiowai FC with a 3-1 victory in division 1 to kick off their campaign to a fiery start during the opening round of the Port Moresby Soccer Association (PMSA) preseason challenge on Saturday, March 30th, 2025, at Bisini Football Grounds.

Retired PNG Kapul and Hekari United FC stalwart David Muta made his return to the pitch and helped the Bismarck side run over the young Raiowai FC from Central Province.

Joining Muta was another experienced player, David Sirip. Muta and Sirip guided the young players and barked orders on the field, controlling the flow of the game.

Bismarck used their wealth of experience and took a 2-0 lead in the first half. The men in blue bagged another goal in the second half, while the Central side scored a consolation goal.

Coach-player Trevor Ire noted that the rainy weather affected their preparations but he was happy with the win, thanking Muta and Sirip for leading the team on the field.

“It was our first preseason game and the weather has affected our training, but we came together and made some good passes to get the win today,” Ire said.

“We were fortunate to have two guest players, David Muta and David Sirip. They guided the young players to record our first win of the preseason.”

The emerging talents were blessed to play alongside Muta, who was the household name in PNG back in the day, insofar as the sport of soccer or football is concerned.

Mr. Ire said they needed to build on this victory in their next game and play coordinated or structured football, be better and fitter during the preseason leading up to the proper season.
