Christoper Topa has been appointed as the new Executive Officer for the Basketball Federation of PNG (BFPNG) by the PNGBF Executive Committee, marking a new chapter for basketball in Papua New Guinea.
Upon accepting the position, Mr. Topa stated in a press release that it was an honour and he hoped to grow basketball in the country.
"I am honored to take on the role of Executive Officer for the Basketball Federation of PNG. I am committed to working with our stakeholders to enhance and grow the game of basketball at all levels throughout PNG," Said Topa.
BFPNG President, Emma Waiwai, expressed her confidence in the appointment of Mr. Topa and looks forward to working with him to grow basketball in PNG.
"We are thrilled to welcome Christopher Topa as our new Executive Officer. Mr. Topa brings
a wealth of experience and a passionate commitment to the development of basketball in our nation,” Waiwai stressed.
“His vision and leadership will be invaluable as we strive to elevate basketball in
Papua New Guinea. I have full confidence in Chris's ability to drive the growth of basketball
in PNG.”
Moreover, BFPNG acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the outgoing
Executive Officer, Miskus Lapan. Mr. Lapan's contributions have been instrumental in laying
the foundation for the growth of basketball in the country.
