PNG Kumul and South Sydney Rabbitohs star Alex Johnston will celebrate the milestone
achievement by playing his 200th game this Saturday. This is when they take on the Melbourne
Storms at Suncorp Stadium.
It is not surprising that Johnston has grown into one of the best NRL players and wingers. He
was ranked the number 1 top try scorer for the 2022 NRL season after scoring 28 tries. He
became one of the top 5 Australian rugby league try scorers.
An excited and matured Johnson recalls his unforgettable debut moment where he scored a
try.
“I remember my debut. In any case, it is hard to forget. It was Suncorp on Anzac Day and we
played the Brisbane Broncos. I just remember singing the national anthem. I was looking at the
ground, not thinking about the anthem at all, just thinking about what was to come.
Second half of the game and I was lucky to get a kick from Adam Reynolds and score a try on
my debut. It was a pretty pleasant introduction to the NRL and I’ll never forget it.
Johnston is ready to take the field for a double century this weekend.
